Kauai Terrace House
Against the lush landscape of Kauai is perched this hushed, peaceful jewel box of a house. Basalt tiles and stone slabs evoke the volcanic island terrain. Open corridors provide cover from the rain, and slatted panels slide softly between the rooms.
Neutral colors layer on top of one another, allowing room for quiet patterns and geometric textiles. The intricacy of craft appears in ceramic light fixtures and hand-printed wallpaper. String shade lanterns hang above the kitchen counter; the sunken outdoor seating beckons. And it all feels as easy as an island breeze.
