Catherine Kwong Design is a boutique firm working with a select group of projects across California and the Hawaiian Islands. Specializing in luxury interiors, balancing modern architecture with custom detailing to create spaces that feel both refined and deeply considered. Elegant, but with a bit of an edge.
We create personally tailored interiors with care, building beautiful homes alongside fantastic teams. Integrity and professionalism guide every detail, with a drive to deliver excellent service and real value. Curious by nature, we are always building on experience and trying new things.
THE PRINCIPAL
Catherine Kwong began her career in New York, designing luxury interiors at Studio Sofield and flagship stores for Ralph Lauren. After years of learning and creating in the city that never sleeps, she returned to her beloved San Francisco and founded Catherine Kwong Design in 2011.
Over the course of her career, Catherine has worked on projects around the world, with work featured in Architectural Digest, Town & Country, and Elle Decor, among others.
In 2026, Catherine was named to the 1stDibs 50, recognizing the world's most influential interior designers. In 2015, she was named a 'Designer to Watch' by Architectural Digest, and has appeared on the covers of California Home + Design and Henry magazines.
Her career has been shaped by the opportunity to work alongside legendary designers Bill Sofield, Ralph Lauren, and Paul Vincent Wiseman. Catherine holds degrees from Brown University and Parsons School of Design
