Hillsborough Tudor

The house already had so much going for it: a stately facade, huge backyard, and a great layout. It just felt a little bit... formal.

Enter our clients: a family with three rambunctious boys, two social parents, and everyone just as active as could be. So we kept the good parts (the paneled sitting room, the rows of large windows, the curved staircase), and refreshed the rest.

Fresh coats of limewash paint and modernist light fixtures gave the interiors new life. The furniture was to be tailored and chic, but able to take the occasional spill or somersault off of a sofa back. Today, the house is a hub for group projects, book club meetings, and summer pool parties. Music plays, and neighbors come over for dinner. Just like its inhabitants, the home has become warm, welcoming and approachable - the consummate host.
